Dodge
Dodge is an American automotive manufacturing division of Stellantis (formerly Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA). Although once having a more diverse lineup, the current Dodge vehicle catalog now primarily consists of muscle cars and performance-focused models, variants, and special editions.
Founded in 1900 as the Dodge Brothers Company by Horace and John Dodge, the company's first projects involved supplying parts and services to other automakers in the Detroit, Michigan area, including Ford. The first "Dodge Brothers' brand vehicle was made in 1914 but was later sold to Dillon, Read & Co. in 1925 and then Chrysler in 1928.
For much of its run, Dodge produced full-sized passenger cars, pickup trucks (through Dodge Ram), and even the Dodge Viper sports car. However, its current place in the Stellantis parent company has Dodge specializing exclusively with high-performance models and muscles cars, such as with its Hellcat engines and models. Therefore, its car and minivan production has been delegated to Chrysler and Fiat, its SUV production has been delegated to Jeep, its truck production has been delegated to Ram, and its sports car production has been delegated to Alfa Romeo.
