All it needs is tusks. The new Hennessey Mammoth the biggest Hennessey truck ever built. The Mammoth is a six-wheel-drive Ram TRX with more than 1,200 horsepower. It’s so big, calling it a Mammoth is probably an understatement. And that’s saying a lot considering Hennessey Performance Engineering built the VelociRaptor 6×6 version of the Ford Raptor. The Mammoth is almost seven-feet-tall. IT’s 88-inches (7.3 feet) wide and weighs almost 7,000 pounds. But, with more than 1,200 horsepower, it is quick.

The “regular” four-wheeled Mammoth Ram TRX was the world’s fastest truck when it premiered.

It starts as a Ram TRX, then gets a lot of mods

The Mammoth starts life as a Ram TRX truck. The TRX is Ram’s 702-horsepower off-road truck that will embarrass many supercars at the drag strip. It’s also known for having a nice interior, a smooth ride, and gas mileage in the single digits if you push it.

While the TRX has a supercharged 6.2-liter Hemi V8, Hennessey scraps most of the go-fast parts and swaps them for go-faster parts and a Hellcat V8. Hennessey Performance is a tuner that makes fast cars and trucks faster, and also makes its own Venom supercar.

A Hennessey truck like this is all about numbers.

  • 300: Horsepower increased over stock
  • 1,012: Total horsepower
  • 969: Pound feet of torque
  • 37: inch off-road tires
  • 3: Axles
  • 4: feet longer than stock
  • $449.950: Price
  • 24,000: Mile warranty
  • 12: Only 12 will be built annually

What else do you get in a Hennessey truck for $450,000?

The upgrades required to make a TRX a Mammoth are, well, mammoth. Hennessey adds a bunch of upgrades to the supercharger system to pump more air (and thus more gas) into the motor. But, with all that power it also needs beefed-up belts, pulleys, filtration and more.

The big thing, if anything on this truck can simply be called big, is that third axle. The third axle turns the 4×4 into a 6×6, and yes, all six axles can lock. Then the truck gets custom bumpers, a suspension leveling kit, new lights, tires, and a warranty. Hennessey expects his trucks to be driven and since all of the mods void any kind of factory warranty, you’d get with a new TRX you get a 2-year/24,000-mile warranty.

Hennessey trucks are for Fords and Chevy fans, too

In the video the Mammoth, the Hennessey team says that the VelociRaptor 6×6 will return, as well. The VelociRaptor is a similar build to the Mammoth, except it’s a Ford. The Ford Raptor is already a prodigious off-road vehicle with 450 horsepower, as well as the smaller Venom version. The VelociRaptor adds two turbos and 150-more horsepower.

Hennessey hasn’t forgotten about Chevrolet fans, either. Hennessey makes the Goliath, which is a three-axle 6×6 version of the Silverado Hennessey made in 2019 and 2020. The Goliath was a 450-horsepower, 6×6, that cost $375.
