The Subaru Ascent is a midsize three-row SUV model produced and sold by the automobile manufacturing division of the Subaru Corporation. The Ascent is currently the largest model offered by Subaru and is sized and priced above the Subaru Forester compact SUV and the Subaru Outback station wagon.
The Subaru Ascent (also sold as the Evoltis in a handful of markets) debuted as a concept vehicle at the 2017 New York International Auto Show. Pushed into production later that year, the Ascent was positioned as the brand’s new flagship model and as the successor to the discontinued Subaru Tribeca model.
Still in its first generation that debuted with the 2018 model year, the Subaru Ascent faces competition from the Chevy Traverse, the Ford Explorer, the Kia Telluride, the Nissan Pathfinder, and the Toyota Highlander.

- Pros: The Subaru Ascent midsize SUV provides its passengers with a smooth ride, plenty of safety technology, and standard all-wheel drive. Additionally, its cabin comes with configurable second-row seating.
- Cons: The sound of the Ascent’s engine bleeds through the cabin, it’s not the most maneuverable model in its class, and its third-row is cramped for adult passengers.
