2 convicted felons have a combined bond of $100k after drinking tequila in a parked vehicle and then driving
Driving under the influence is one of the worst things a person can do. It causes several car wrecks each year, with many of them being fatal. However, most people don’t consume alcohol in the car and then decide to drive while being watched by the police. This happened recently in North Carolina. Of course, the authorities then conducted a traffic stop. What they learned made the situation even worse.
Driving under the influence after drinking in the car is the next level of dangerous behavior
There is never a good reason to drive while under the influence. Sadly, many people decide to do this each year. According to WYFF 4 News, police officers in Asheville, North Carolina, were recently on patrol and noticed two men drinking and using drugs in a parked car. Then, the driver drove off using the wrong lane and erratically, prompting a traffic stop.
Of course, the police officers on the scene searched the vehicle during the traffic stop. They found two guns, the tequila they were drinking, and some illegal drugs. Naturally, the police officers arrested the two men on the scene. However, they also learned that the two men, Derontrez Coleman, 33, and Marlon Beatty, 42, were both convicted felons.
Naturally, both men are facing charges for their actions following the traffic stop. They include felony possession of a firearm by a felon and various drug charges. The diver, Marlon, is also facing charges for driving while under the influence. Marlon has a $52,000 bond, while the other guy’s is $55,000. There is no word on if either of the two has gotten out.
Remember, driving under the influence is never a good idea. Not only does it cause car wrecks, but it has several other consequences. Calling a friend or a rideshare is always best.
