12-year-old girl is in the hospital after being hit by her mother’s stolen car
Car theft is one of the most significant issues that drivers face. However, this isn’t always due to vehicles going missing. Instead, sometimes the most prominent problems concern what the thieves use the stolen vehicles for. Recently, a 12-year-old girl was hit by her mother’s stolen car in Washington. Of course, police pursued the suspect for a traffic stop and eventually caught him.
This man committed car theft and then caused harm to the victim’s child
According to The News Tribune, Tacoma, Washington, police were called on the night of December 18th following a car theft. The report says that a mother and a daughter had just parked and stepped outside a vehicle. However, a person jumped the car inside and then began to drive and ended up hitting the daughter, 12.
Of course, the police officers began pursuing the car theft perpetrator in order to make a traffic stop. Luckily, they were soon able to stop the stolen car and apprehend the man. Now, he is facing charges of first-degree robbery, possession of a stolen vehicle, eluding police, and hit-and-run. It’s unknown if the man received a bond or when he will have a hearing.
Regarding the car theft victims, the 12-year-old girl was taken to a hospital for what the report calls minor injuries. It’s also unclear where the victims were, why they stepped out of the vehicle with the car running, or even if this is what happened. However, for safety, it’s always best to check your surroundings when entering or exiting a vehicle at night.
