Car theft happens daily all over the world. It’s a dangerous crime, and it causes several issues that disrupt public safety. Recently, a Ram was reported stolen in Virginia, and the suspect evaded a traffic stop and then led the police on a high-speed chase. However, he made things worse after the police took him to the hospital for treatment. 

Not only did he commit car theft and evade a traffic stop, but he also caused a hospital lockdown

According to 13 News Now, police in Virginia recently spotted a 2020 Ram truck that had been reported for car theft. Of course, the officer tried to conduct a traffic stop on the stolen truck, but the driver refused to pull over. This caused a high-speed chase, which many areas around the country are in the process of banning. Notably, this police chase stretched through multiple parts of Virginia, including Newport News and Hampton. 

Sadly, the chase continued as the police tried to make the traffic stop. There were times when they called it off, but other officers would spot the car theft suspect and begin the pursuit again. They were later able to pull the truck over, but the driver escaped on foot. Luckily, they were soon able to arrest him. Naturally, they identified the man, who happened to be 33 years old. 

Following the traffic stop, the police took the man to the Riverside Regional Medical Center for treatment. Once at the hospital, the man asked to use the restroom and used this as a time to try to escape. He did this by going through the ceiling tiles. This caused a lockdown at the hospital, and the police soon found him. Now, he has multiple charges, including felony eluding police, felony hit and run, felony assault on a law enforcement officer, and possession of narcotics. He also has charges related to his antics at the hospital.
