The road can be a dangerous place due to the decisions of some drivers. Sadly, this risky behavior includes people trying to run from the police. Recently, a 31-year-old Ohio man attempted to evade a traffic stop, and an infant ended up being ejected from the car. Of course, he’s now behind bars and facing severe charges for his danger to public safety.

He tried to run from a traffic stop and endangered the life of a baby

There are many reasons the police could subject a driver to a traffic stop. Of course, one of the biggest is when someone in the car has an active warrant. According to News Nation Now, this is what happened with Zachary Chervenka, 32, who had an active warrant out of Indiana. The report said someone spotted him on December 1st at a store in Bryan, Ohio, and police soon intervened.

However, Zachary got into a car with his two kids and drove off instead of talking to the police on the scene. This was around 9:30 that night. Naturally, this caused a police chase, during which the driver allegedly blew through red lights and ignored nine stop signs. As police tried to conduct the traffic stop, he is said to have reached speeds over 100 miles per hour.

Sadly, things worsened while he evaded the traffic stop. One of two kids in the car, a 9-month-old, was somehow “ejected from the moving car.”Notably, the weather was below freezing, and it took more than an hour to find the baby. However, the report says the child was in “fair” condition and was taken to a local hospital.

Sadly, the driver didn’t get arrested until the following day. Luckily, the other child in the car during the attempted traffic stop was safe. He is being charged with endangering children and failing to comply with the order or signal of a police officer.
