“Odd behavior” and a fake license plate recently led police to uncover meth, fentanyl, and other drugs during a traffic stop
Everyone knows having a fake license plate on a car is illegal. Despite this, some drivers still skip out on getting legit car tags and assume they can get away with it. Police officers in Ohio recently conducted a traffic stop for this reason, and now three men are facing severe charges for what the police found in the vehicle.
This traffic stop over a fake license plate on a car quickly turned into a drug bust
Many things can trigger a traffic stop. One of the most common is if police officers notice a fake or altered license plate. According to WYFF 4, police officers in Jackson County, North Carolina, observed a vehicle driving around with car tags they determined to be fake. Of course, they pulled the vehicle over, and there were three men inside.
During the traffic stop, the police noticed what they called “odd behavior” from all three of the men in the car. Because of the reported behavior, the police officers on the scene ordered them out of the car and then conducted a search. Of course, this revealed why the men were behaving the way they were. The officers found 4.4 pounds of what they believed to be meth, 5 grams of what might be fentanyl, and there were other drugs.
The three men in the vehicle were Nathan Christopher Hiles, Cainan Damascus Skelton, and Johnathan Eugene Huntsinger. Naturally, all three of them were arrested after the traffic stop and are facing a laundry list of charges. It’s reasonable to assume that those charges will include trafficking and possession.
