‘They Lost Their Shoes’ South Carolina Man Runs Over Mom and Daughter Sledding Behind Car
Don’t be too harsh on South Carolina residents during snowstorms. It hardly ever gets snow, and there aren’t enough plows to handle it. However, people still make dumb decisions, such as sledding behind a car. That’s how a mom and daughter were run over by a truck and abandoned.

Here’s some free advice: Don’t go sledding behind a motor vehicle. A mom and her daughter were being towed behind a car when it turned. This left the ladies sitting in the snow-covered street.
As a result, they were hit by a truck. According to WJCL, a man in a 2022 Ram 1500 hit them. A witness shared that he looked at the 46-year-old and 20-year-old woman then got back in his pickup and left the scene.
A witness ran out to assist the women and the driver of the car while waiting for police officers and emergency responders to arrive.
Emma Schenstra shares, “I was wrapping up their hands that were lying in the snow, wrapping up their feet, they had lost their shoes. I was wrapping their limbs that were touching the ice so they could stay warm until the ambulance got there.”
The woman’s injuries include a fractured skull, punctured lung, broken ribs, several broken vertebrae, and a dislocated shoulder.
Police officers later found the driver and identified him as 46-year-old Richard Quinn Davidson. Turns out, he was driving under the influence. Davidson faces charges for DUI and hit-and-run resulting in great bodily injury.
Davidon is also believed to be the fiancé of the older woman. However, maybe this incident will give her second thoughts about the upcoming marriage.
