55-year-old drunk driver recently led Ohio police on a chase with only 3 tires on his Jeep
Driving under the influence is one of the worst things a driver can do. It causes numerous deadly car wrecks each year and can also have several legal consequences. Recently, police officers tried to conduct a traffic stop on an alleged drunk driver, and he led them on a dangerous chase. Now, he’s behind bars and facing serious charges for the offense.
He was believed to be driving under the influence and then evaded a traffic stop
Police officers can make a traffic stop for several reasons. Often, they do so after noticing behavior that could cause car wrecks. According to Cleveland 19, this happened recently in Lorain County when officers saw a Jeep going in and out of the road lanes. Of course, this is a typical sign that someone is driving under the influence. Notably, the vehicle was moving at a slow speed, and police officers later noticed that it was missing one of the front tires.
Sadly, their efforts to make a traffic stop were first ignored by the driver, later identified as Larry James Fisher, 55. He led the police officers on a slow chase for about two miles before eventually coming to a stop on November 22nd. The police arrested and booked him at the Lorain County Jail. The report doesn’t say how well he complied as the officers placed him into handcuffs.
Currently, it’s unclear how the Jeep driver lost his front passenger side tire, but it’s reasonable to assume it was the result of some sort of collision. After the traffic stop, the police charged him with operating a vehicle impaired, driving under suspension, failure to comply, unsafe motor vehicle, and reckless driving.
