Many drivers in Nevada fear the worst after using the pumps at a popular gas station. It seems they may have gotten gas that either had water in it or had other contamination issues. As everyone knows, getting bad fuel can lead to massive mechanical problems, and some of these drivers worry their cars could be totaled in addition to racking up expensive repair bills with auto mechanics.

Using gas station pumps can be as trusting as new auto mechanics

According to 2 News, Zuleyma Arellano recently used the gas pumps at a Golden Gate gas station in Yerington, Nevada. Sadly, the vehicle began to experience mechanical issues after getting gas. Zuleyma said, “My car started to shake like crazy, and then all of my service lights started to turn on, and then I started losing power.” Naturally, these are symptoms of a vehicle that can’t properly function due to contaminated gas or other severe issues.

Sadly, this isn’t the only person who has used the gas pumps at the Golden Gate station who is experiencing mechanical issues. Travis Chrismer explained, “hit the freaking gas pedal, and it doesn’t want to go, and it just lost a lot of torque, and it backfires now.” He says he realized there was an issue with his fuel pump. The man then flushed the gas from the system, but he’s still unable to commute to work. He says the leadership at the gas station claims they are not responsible.

According to the man, “I called Yerington (the gas station) yesterday and they told me that’s on me. That it’s my own risk for pumping gas at their gas station.” Regarding Zuleyma, she had her car towed to a local auto mechanic shop. This confirmed that her gas tank contained water. Her car was only three years old. Now, both drivers are awaiting some recourse.
