According to a December 2025 report on the electric vehicle market, these are the 10 most anticipated EVs launching in 2026. The research looked at electric vehicles launching in 2026 or entering their first full year on the market.

More than 20 upcoming EVs were considered when determining which models people are most excited about in 2026. Interestingly, seven of the top 10 are SUVs.

The study, by the B2B car company eCarsTrade, tracked how many people looked up information about each model every month, including pricing, range, and release dates. Each electric vehicle received a score based on the total number of people worldwide who researched it.

2026 Porsche Cayenne Electric

Based on that data, the Porsche Cayenne Electric is the most anticipated EV launching in 2026. With approximately 911,000 people looking it up online monthly, the high-performance luxury SUV has drawn a lot of eyeballs despite its $111,350 starting price. Perhaps it has something to do with its Turbo version, which is expected to deliver 1,139 horsepower, making it the most powerful production Porsche ever built.

2026 MG Cyberster

The MG Cyberster is the second-most-anticipated EV for 2026, with more than 800K drivers showing interest online each month. With a starting price of around $73,000, it is far less expensive than most performance EVs. It also offers convertible driving for what many brands charge for a closed-roof sedan.

2026 Audi Q6

Audi Q6 e-tron ranks third with around 793K potential buyers waiting for its release. This mid-size premium SUV uses the same platform as the Porsche Macan Electric, so it offers similar fast-charging capabilities and battery technology. This model also features Audi’s newest interior tech and starts at around $63,800.

2026 Volkswagen ID.7

Volkswagen’s electric replacement for the Passat, the ID.7, is next on the list, with more than 700K people considering purchasing it. Starting around $50,000, this mid-size sedan is more for fleet buyers and company car drivers who need long-range highway capability. The model appears to be a solid option for those looking to electrify their sedan fleet at a lower price.

2026 Hyundai Ioniq 9

The Hyundai Ioniq 9 finishes up the top five with around 665,000 people looking up its specs monthly. The three-row electric SUV seats seven passengers and has a 300-mile range. Priced from $60,600, the Ioniq 9 is marketed as an upscale family option comparable to the Palisade, only fully electric.

The rest of the top 10 most anticipated electric vehicles for 2026

Rounding out the 10 most anticipated electric vehicles launching in 2026 are the Polestar 3 performance SUV, the Kia EV5 compact family SUV, and the Audi A6 e-tron Sportback executive sedan.

The cheapest electric vehicle on the list, the BYD Atto 2 compact SUV, with a starting price of around $39K, came in ninth. Tenth on the list is the Ferrari Elettrica ultra-luxury performance SUV – the first Ferrari EV ever. It falls on the complete opposite end of the spectrum, with a starting price of at least $535,000.
