There is no shortage of illegal activity on the road today. Sometimes, perpetrators commit multiple crimes at once. This is the case in a recent story from Michigan, where a driver evaded a traffic stop after allegedly committing car theft. It also seems that he may have been driving while under the influence. Now, he and two others are behind bars facing multiple charges.

Police say he committed car theft and then sped from a traffic stop in foggy weather

According to M Live, a Livingston County Sheriff’s deputy was recently on patrol duty when he noticed a vehicle that someone had reported for car theft. Of course, the officer then tried to conduct a traffic stop, but the driver sped away, which promoted a high-speed police chase. Notably, the weather was foggy, but the report says that the driver reached 120 miles per hour while trying to escape the police officer.

Naturally, the Livingston County Sheriff’s deputy continued to pursue the traffic stop on the vehicle. However, things took a turn when the man driving the allegedly stolen car crashed into a ditch. From there, the officers on the scene were able to make contact with the three men who were in the car. The police arrested all three.

Following the traffic stop, the three men are all facing multiple charges. The driver, who is 24, is facing fleeing and eluding, driving under the influence, car theft, and carrying a concealed weapon. The passengers, one is 19 and the other is 20, are being charged with carrying a concealed weapon.
