3 people are behind bars after a police traffic stop uncovered “a large quantity of drugs” and firearms
Police officers never know what they might uncover during a traffic stop. Often, things are completely normal, and these encounters only end in citations. Still, there can be more intense situations. This happened recently when police pulled over a car, and now three people in Georgia are in jail facing several charges, including drug trafficking. One of the three has a lengthy criminal history.
This traffic stop uncovered a criminal enterprise
According to Fox 5 Atlanta, police officers in Resaca, Georgia, recently noticed a suspicious-looking vehicle. Because of this, they decided to conduct a traffic stop to determine if the situation required police intervention. However, after talking to the driver and the two passengers, they decided that searching the vehicle would be appropriate. Luckily for everyone involved, the people inside the car complied and didn’t put up a fight.
Still, things took a bit of a turn during the police traffic stop. Upon searching, they found what the report calls “a large quantity of illegal drugs.” This is said to include meth, marijuana, and various forms of paraphernalia. Additionally, the people inside the vehicle also possessed quite a few unlawful firearms. Naturally, these two types of items would lead anyone to believe they were a part of a criminal enterprise. The three suspects, Margie Russell,50, Cody Anderson, 33, and Kelly Parks, 42, were taken to jail.
Following the traffic stop, all three people are facing several charges. They include drug trafficking, possession with intent to distribute, and various weapons violations. Apparently, Margie was already a fugitive due to having warrants for theft. Additionally, she has 30 prior arrests in that area alone. She also has additional charges for bringing drugs into the jail.
