Recent Georgia traffic stop ends months-long investigation and uncovers 500 doses of meth and other illegal items
There are many reasons why police officers may stop drivers. They can be over road violations or in connection with larger law enforcement activities. Recently, a traffic stop led to the arrest of the subject of a months-long investigation. Of course, the police officers on the scene also uncovered a large quantity of illegal drugs.
This traffic stop helped get a ton of illegal drugs off the street
According to WALB News 10, a recent traffic stop led Grady County police officers to a man at the center of a months-long investigation. According to the report, this happened on November 11th, and the driver, Frederic Dewayne Donald, 36, was known to have a suspended driver’s license. The silver lining in this story, if there is one, is that the driver didn’t try to evade the police stop.
During the traffic stop, the police officers on the scene conducted a search of the vehicle in addition to searching the driver’s person. First, they unearthed illegal prescription pills in his pocket. However, it doesn’t end there, as the officers later found copious amounts of drugs in the vehicle. This includes about 500 doses of meth, which has a reported street value of $3,000.
The traffic stop also uncovered Alprazolam pills, Oxycodone, Alpha PVP(Flakka,) an unknown substance, three digital scales, and plastic bags. Frederic is facing multiple charges. They include:
- Driving with a suspended license
- Trafficking meth
- Two counts of possessing a controlled substance
- Possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute
It’s also important to note that he was out on bond from a previous drug-related arrest. He was also on federal probation.
