3 people are in jail after stealing a car and leading police on a 130 mph chase
Practically everyone knows that high-speed police chases bring about unneeded risks for bystanders. Notably, they cause several car wrecks each year. Sadly, they happen more than most of us would like to acknowledge. Recently, police in California tried to pull over a car theft suspect for a traffic stop. Sadly, the person behind the wheel refused to stop, which promoted a pursuit that could have caused untold damage.
Committing car theft and evading a traffic stop are among the worst things a driver can do
According to Fox 11 Los Angeles, the LA PD received a call on January 3rd about a car theft that had taken place. Of course, this is a serious crime, and the officers wasted no time in beginning the process of searching for the perpetrators. They soon located the people and attempted to make a traffic stop, but the driver refused to pull over for the police, which, as most can imagine, started a high-speed chase.
While trying to pull the car theft suspects over for a traffic stop, the police on the scene followed them through Sherman Oaks, which is where the pursuit started. Additionally, the chase went through Studio City, North Hollywood, Valley Glen, and Sun Valley. At points, the driver reached 130 miles per hour while on the 170 Freeway. Of course, the high speeds also mean that the male driver weaved in and out of traffic.
This all lasted quite a while, and the driver could have caused multiple car wrecks while evading the traffic stop. Things ended when he hit a trash can and then turned around. He then stopped at an apartment complex, and he and two other people got out of the vehicle. Notably, the police initially believed there were only two car theft suspects in the vehicle. However, one of them ran, and the police apprehended them later.
There were no injuries. However, all three of them face multiple charges following the traffic stop.
