A group of supercars on parade, including a Bugatti, and Mercedes AMG 300SL built for the Sultan of Brunei
BRUNTINGTHORPE, UNITED KINGDOM - MAR 29: Hypercars and supercars heading to the final meeting point at the Secret Supercar Meet on March 29, 2015, in Bruntingthorpe, England. TWO HUNDRED of the world's most sought-after supercars descended on Leicestershire this Sunday (March 29) for the fifth annual 'Secret Supercar Meet' - despite the howling wind and torrential rain. The luxury vehicles - worth in excess of £20m - included a Bugatti Veyron Super Sport World Record Edition - one of only five worldwide and the only one in Europe - a Mercedes AMG 300SL built for the Sultan of Brunei, and British tycoon Paul Bailey's supercar 'Holy Trinity' - LaFerrari, 918 Spyder and P1. The invitation-only event, organised by supercar owners club Supercar Driver, was held at Bruntingthorpe Aerodrome and Proving Ground to mark the start of the motoring season and raise money for a local charity, Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice. And while these high-performance cars would normally stay firmly inside the garage in such treacherous weather conditions, the owners were happy to turn out despite the rain to raise nearly £5,000 for the good cause. Hypercars are like something from out of this world. They are the epitome of design and engineering, and so much more. Hypercars are some of the rarest, fastest, and most expensive vehicles in the world. Every day, manufacturers and private shops are working to build better and faster hypercars and watching them race is unlike anything you’ll ever experience. Faster than your average car, even then your standard race car, these hypercars might leave you in a state of shock, especially the Bugatti Veyron.

The Bugatti Veyron

Whether you are a fan of hypercars or not, you know about the Bugatti Veyron. It’s spaceship-like appearance, it’s crazy performance, and even more shocking: the price. The Veyron is so expensive that the maintenance cost each year is more than some people’s entire cars. But, it wasn’t designed to be affordable, it was designed to be something extraordinary. There are no hard lines on what makes a hypercar, but if we know one thing, it’s that you either are, or you aren’t, the Bugatti Veyron is.

The SSC Tuatara

The SSC Tuatara isn’t just a piece of machinery, it is modern-day art. Skillfully crafted and designed to be as aerodynamic as possible, the SSC Tuatara is the latest competitor in the hypercar market. A twin-turbocharged 5.9-liter V8 propels this exotic-looking vehicle with 1,350hp. Yes, you read that right, this car makes well over 1000hp, and that’s just using standard premium gas. Switch over to E85 and you can expect a jaw-dropping 1,750hp from this hypercar.

The SSC Tuatara versus Bugatta Veyron

If you are the type of person who enjoys cruising down the highway maybe faster than you should, love the Friday night lights at your local drag racing strip, or prefer to watch IMSA racing from the comfort and safety of your couch than you know that racing is an incredible test of a car’s machinery. More than that, hypercars are a true show of the technology and engineering of the times. They might not be important to you in the ways that you might think, but hypercar technology is still an important mark of progress.

If for anything other than beauty, this video shows two incredibly rare and capable hypercars doing what they do best. While your chances of seeing either of these cars on the road, or even in most car museums or collections, are incredibly slim, we can still appreciate all of the incredible videos and pictures that we get.

With these hypercars, engineering and craftsman are exemplified, creating some of the fastest and most powerful cars in the world. Love Nascar or IMSA racing? Watching these hypercars race will definitely leave you wanting more.
