Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman standing in front of their blue and orange Harley-Davidson LiveWires in the middle of the desert

Ewan McGregor Goes a Long Way Thanks to Rivian and the Harley-Davidson Livewire

Electric vehicles, whether trucks or motorcycles aren’t typically the steeds of choice for off-road adventures. Especially not ones like the Harley-Davidson LiveWire which, despite offering genuinely impressive performance, isn’t exactly an ADV bike. But if an Indian Scout Sixty can tackle Amazonian jungles, then an electric Harley should be able to as well. And movie …

Watch the New Ford Bronco Try to Conquer Jeep’s Rubicon Stomping Grounds

‘Rubicon’ isn’t just a trim name for the Jeep faithful—it’s where their beloved Wranglers and Gladiators earn their badges. But the Wrangler isn’t the only retro American off-road SUV on the market anymore. It’s now joined by the 2021 Ford Bronco, and their respective fanbases are already squaring off. And now, footage has appeared of …

What’s a Short Shifter, and Does Your Car Need One?

Engine swaps and new exhausts aren’t the only modifications that can increase performance. True, handling mods like performance tires, stiffer sway bars, and new engine mounts aren’t as flashy as a turbo. But they can sharpen your vehicle’s reflexes. However, if you drive a manual, there’s one more thing you might want to consider getting: …

Husqvarna Vitpilen vs. KTM Duke: Which Bike Should You Buy?

In the US, Husqvarna is arguably best-known for its dual-sport motorcycles. But the Swedish company also has a café racer, the Husqvarna Vitpilen. However, rather like Harley-Davidson once provided engines to Buell, many of Husqvarna’s bikes are built around KTM powertrains. In the Husqvarna Vitpilen’s case, it’s based on the KTM Duke naked bikes. But …

The Original Bond Car, the Blower Bentley, Is Back

Aston Martins are James Bond’s usual wheels of choice. At least, in the films. But in the original books, Bond drove a Bentley. Specifically, one of the sportiest pre-war (pre-WWII) cars the British automaker produced: the 4 ½ Litre Blower Bentley. And now, just like Jaguar and Aston Martin before it, Bentley is making some …

The Moto Guzzi V7 Is an Overlooked Brand-New Vintage Bike

Those who want classic motorcycle looks without the hassle are a bit spoiled for choice right now. Almost every manufacturer offers a vintage-looking bike. Honda has the Monkey and Super Cub, Triumph the Thruxton café racer and Bonneville, and Royal Enfield’s developing a scrambler. There’s one retro motorcycle, though, which deserves some more attention: the …

2010 vs. 2020 Porsche 911 Carrera S: Worth the Extra $74,000?

It’s tough finding a better car, sporty or otherwise, that has the Porsche 911’s bandwidth. It’s a luxury car that’s also a sports car that can theoretically seat 4. And you don’t need the high-end GT3 or GT2 trims to have fun: the base Carrera is all you need. The only downside? A high MSRP. …

The Polestar 2 Is a Swede and Stylish Tesla Model 3 Rival

When it comes to reasonably-affordable EVs, the Tesla Model 3 sets the segment standard. But the competition, such as the Chevy Bolt, Mini Cooper SE, and the Mustang Mach-E crossover, is catching up. And now, the Model 3 has another competitor, courtesy of Volvo’s electric (and former performance) division: the Polestar 2. 2021 Polestar 2: …

The Alfa Romeo Montreal Is an Underappreciated Classic Concept Car Made Real

Even before its current struggles, not every one of Alfa Romeo’s cars was an instant hit. In the case of the angular SZ, that was due to its looks. The Alfa Romeo Montreal, though, struggled despite its looks and engineering. As a result, it’s an Italian classic car that’s been largely overlooked for many years. …

Buying a Nissan GT-R: Classic Skyline vs. Used Modern R35

With the R33 Nissan Skyline GT-R now old enough to import, Godzilla fans may face a difficult decision. As with the Civic Type R, there’s a US-spec Nissan GT-R available, the R35. More to the point, the earliest R35s are cheap enough to approach Skyline GT-R pricing. But which is the one to get? Nissan …

It’s a Lamborghini Family Drag Race: Urus vs. Aventador vs. Huracan

Limited-production hybrids aside, Lamborghini’s core lineup consists of 3 cars: the Urus SUV/crossover, the Aventador, and the Huracan. Despite what some think, the Lamborghini Urus isn’t the Italian automaker’s first elevated vehicle. And it’s more capable than many assume. But does it deliver on the speed front? Carwow tried to find out with a drag …

Shelby’s Giving the Mustang GT500 Even More Power

When it comes to power, the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 isn’t exactly short of it. But the new Dodge Challenger Super Stock has even more. And even though it’s not as popular, the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE is the Shelby GT500’s match on the track. The new Shelby American Ford Mustang GT500 and GT350 Special …

Does a Cheap Reliable Used Bentley Exist?

A cheap used luxury car, like a Bentley, can be enticing—until the repair bills roll in. But just because brands like Rolls-Royce or Bentley’s corporate cousin, Audi, use pricey parts doesn’t necessarily make them unreliable. With a bit of planning and a sharp eye, it’s possible to find a used Bentley that won’t drain its …
A purple 1995 R33 Nissan Skyline GTR V-Spec parked on a dock

Should the R33 Skyline GTR Really Be Worth More Than the Iconic R32?

Few vehicles ignite JDM Fast and Furious fever like Nissan’s Skyline GTR. Though the R34 Skyline was the actual hero car, the earlier R32 truly kicked off the car’s ‘Godzilla’ moniker. However, there was another model in-between them that doesn’t get quite as much love: the R33. The R32 has been import-eligible for years, and …
Bottles of different coolant colors on shelves, along with oil and other automotive fluids

Does the Color of Your Coolant Matter?

Even outside of oil, a significant part of vehicle maintenance involves taking care of fluids. And while EVs don’t have motor oil, they do still need coolant. However, just like it’s easy to be overwhelmed by oil grades, it can be challenging to know what coolant to pick. Especially when it’s available in such a …
The silver 1977 Jawa 500 DOHC Speedway Racer raced by Ivan Mauger

The Forgotten Czech Motorcycle Brand Jawa Deserves Your Attention

In the US, Indian and Harley-Davidson understandably dominate motorcycle culture. But even today, as the Hayabusa’s situation demonstrates, the industry is strongly linked to Europe. And just like in the States, not every European nameplate enjoys widespread recognition. For every Ducati and BMW, there’s a Soriano and a Condor. Though, as Royal Enfield has shown, …
A selection of various aftermarket wheels in various sizes arranged in display cases

Changing Your Tire and Wheel Size Isn’t as Easy as It Looks

Compared to installing turbo kits or other extensive modifications, giving your vehicle new wheels and tires seem pretty straightforward. It’s also a chance many use to fit larger wheels, and larger tires to along with them. But there’s more to swapping tire and wheel sizes than just bolting on new parts. Because if it’s not …
A red 2004 Mazdaspeed MX-5 Miata going around a corner

Why Was the Mazdaspeed Miata a One-Hit Wonder?

The MX-5 Miata is very fun to drive, but Mazda’s affordable sports car isn’t precisely overwhelmed with power. As a result, engine swaps and aftermarket turbo kits are popular amongst the Mazda Miata fanbase. However, the automaker briefly did offer a version with a bit more juice: the Mazdaspeed Miata. But it’s a model Mazda …
Volkswagen's clean room for producing electric car battery cells

EV Batteries Are About to Get a Much-Needed Upgrade

Range really isn’t an issue for most electric cars anymore. But as with ICE cars, it’s not necessarily the size of the fuel tank, but how easy it is to get the fuel. With EVs, the problem isn’t battery size, but charging speed and battery longevity. Luckily, there are a few new developments that may …
A black-tanked 2020 Indian Scout Sixty

Does the Indian Scout Sixty Out-Cruise Harley-Davidson’s Iron 883?

Though Japanese brands make some of the most affordable cruiser motorcycles, both Indian and Harley-Davidson offer bikes at reasonable prices. For Indian, that’s the Scout Sixty, now available in Bobber form. And for Harley-Davidson, it’s the Iron 883, heir to the Sportster name. But which entry-level American cruiser is best? 2020 Indian Scout Sixty vs. …
