The 2022 Mazda CX-5 trim levels are plentiful in both number and features. With eight different trims to choose from, there are plenty of options for your new Mazda CX-5 SUV. Here are the Mazda CX-5 trim levels, and what you’ll get in each of them.

The 2022 Mazda CX-5 trim levels begin with the S

The 2022 Mazda CX-5 price starts at $27,125 for the base model 2.5 S. It comes standard with a 2.5-liter engine that makes 187 hp and 186 lb-ft of torque. This is matched to a six-speed transmission and all-wheel drive. 

The CX-5 S also comes standard with 17-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. In addition, it has a push-button start, a 10.25-inch display, and a four-speaker sound system. This is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. 

The CX-5 S, as well as all other CX-5 trim levels, come standard with a variety of driver’s aids, such as:

  • Forward collision mitigation
  • Blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert
  • Lane departure mitigation
  • Adaptive cruise control

The Mazda CX-5 Select, Preferred, and Carbon Edition add more features

If you want a little more than the 2022 Mazda CX-5 S offers, you can opt for one of the higher trim levels. For example, the Select price starts at $29,125, and it adds on proximity keyless entry, dual-zone climate control, and a power-adjustable driver’s seat. The Select also has heated front seats, simulated leather upholstery, and a six-speaker sound system.

The Preferred offers a little more. At $30,825, the Preferred is the most popular trim level, according to Edmunds. This builds on the Select with an auto-dimming rearview mirror, sunroof, and a power liftgate. The Preferred also has a power-adjustable passenger seat and leather upholstery.

The Carbon Edition includes even a little bit more, and it costs $31,945. The Carbon Edition has 19-inch black wheels, a special gray paint color, and a power-adjustable passenger seat, as well as leather upholstery.

The Premium and Premium Plus ups the CX-5’s performance

The 2022 Mazda CX-5 Premium trim level starts at $33,535. The Premium trim level adds 19-inch wheels, adaptive headlights, and heated mirrors. The Premium also has adjustable drive modes, paddle shifters, and an upgraded infotainment system. In addition, it offers a satellite radio system and a 10-speaker Bose sound system.

The Premium Plus takes things up another notch. Its price starts at $35,175, and it gives you power-folding mirrors, a heads-up display, and ventilated front seats. In addition, it offers heated rear seats and a heated steering wheel.

The Turbo and Turbo Signature are the most high-end CX-5

For $37,625, you can get the 2022 Mazda CX-5 Turbo. The Turbo includes a turbocharged engine that puts out 227 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque. You can also upgrade to an engine that puts out 256 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque. The Turbo also has black tires, a special trim for both the inside and outside of the SUV and a wireless charging pad.

The Turbo Signature is the ultimate CX-45 trim level, and it incorporates so many features it practically feels like a luxury SUV. It builds on the Turbo and includes upgraded leather upholstery and wood trim as well as ambient interior lighting. The Turbo Signature also has a navigation system, 360-degree camera, and parking sensors, as well as rear automatic brakes.

The 2022 Mazda CX-5’s many trim levels give you so many options you’ll have no trouble finding something that suits your needs. And with its entry-level starting price, you should be able to find one that fits your budget, too.
