Sometimes Cupid gets out of control and shoots the wrong people with his arrows. Valentine’s Day went horribly wrong for a couple in Illinois. A wife hit her husband with an SUV, nearly killing him. The entire incident was caught on surveillance cameras.

Illinois wife hits husband with SUV

Love should break hearts, not spines! Police officers in Loves Park, Illinois, responded to reports of a man lying on the ground near the intersection of Forest Hills and Harlem Road on Valentine’s Day.

They found a man lying in a grassy field. He couldn’t recall exactly what happened, but mentioned having an argument with his wife inside an SUV

He was taken to the hospital for emergency care, and doctors share he has a broken cervical and thoracic spine. But he isn’t expected to become paralyzed.

Witnesses share that they saw a woman going through his pockets before getting in a Honda SUV and leaving the area. According to My State Line, surveillance camera footage captured the incident.

The video shows the Honda stopping at the intersection. Then a woman identified as 32-year-old Sarai Barrio-Rios exits the vehicle and opens the passenger-side door. The victim exited the vehicle and started walking away.

Next, Barrios-Rios runs him down. She was later taken into custody and faces charges for domestic battery, aggravated battery, failure to stop after an accident involving personal injury or death, and domestic battery.

Perhaps after going to court for these crimes, her husband will take her to divorce court as well. She certainly gave him a gift he will never forget.
