Is Jaguar F-Type a luxury car?

The Jaguar F-Type is a luxury sports car with a coupe and a convertible option. Moreover, the 2023 F-Type has just one engine size, and it’s a symphonic horsepower machine. Specifically, the Jaguar F-Type has a supercharged 5.0L V8 with either 444 or a neck-snapping 575 horsepower, depending on the trim. Of course, fans of the F-Type, its contrast stitching, and supercharged V8, you’ll have to pay a premium. Specifically, the 2023 Jaguar F-Type Standard starts at around $74,675. Still, fans of top-tier AWD Corvette-fighting performance will have to contend with the $109,775 starting price point of the Jaguar F-Type R. Even the range-topping F-Type R is more affordable than an entry-level 2023 Mercedes-Benz SL 55 AMG, though. 

Is the new Z4 a hard top?

The BMW Z4 lacks a hard top, but its performance credentials, premium badge, and posh interior establish it as a desirable luxury sports car to smash any weekend drive. Fortunately for drivers who want a hard top Z4, the Toyota GR Supra is the BMW’s sibling car and packs the same engine options in a coupe-only construction. Fans who want the drop-top BMW roadster are looking at a starting price point of around $53,795 for the 2.0L four-cylinder variant and $66,295 for the 3.0L M40i.  

Still, that puts the Z4 at a more affordable starting point than the Jaguar F-Type Standard. That’s impressive considering the V6-powered M40i’s 3.8-second sprint to 60 mph in Car and Driver’s testing. Numbers like that establish the Z4 as a fast luxury sports car to rival the best.  

How much will the Mercedes SL cost?

The Mercedes-Benz SL is back, but it’s all-AMG and demands a premium. The entry-level 2022 AMG SL 55 starts at $138,450, and the range-topping costs around $179,150. Like the Jaguar F-Type, both SL trims pack the same engine option in a different state of tune. The SL 55’s twin-turbocharged 4.0L V8 produces 469 horsepower, while the SL 63 makes a tire-shredding 577 horsepower. 

Moreover, the new SL packs 4Matic AWD and rear-axle steering to complement the roadster’s power. Even better, the new SL is a landscape of carbon fiber, Alcantara, and leather befitting the finest luxury sports cars.  

Is the Porsche 718 Boxster a luxury sports car?

The Porsche 718 Boxster and Cayman aren’t jealous younger siblings of the 911. The new 2023 Porsche 718 Boxster is a taut, focused luxury sports car with roadster credentials. Better yet, the GTS and Spyder trims produce 394 and 414 horsepower from their 4.0L flat six-cylinder engines, respectively. 

Furthermore, the 718 Boxster GTS starts at around $93,850, making it a viable alternative to the Jaguar F-Type R and Mercedes-Benz SL.
