34-year-old Texas gang member is behind bars after a traffic stop uncovered 4,000 grams of narcotics
Police traffic stops are one of the best tools for keeping roads safe. However, they do more than this; they can also help prevent more substantial crimes such as trafficking. This very thing happened recently in Texas when a traffic stop uncovered thousands of grams of drugs. Now, one man is behind bars, facing massive charges.
This police traffic stop prevented other crimes
There are many reasons someone could be subjected to a traffic stop. It could be due to driving infractions, but it could also be due to other suspected crimes. According to EverythingLubbock, police officers recently conducted a traffic stop after one of the three men in the car was seen carrying a large amount of narcotics to the vehicle. Notably, he was caught on surveillance. The Texas Anit Gang unit assisted in the stop.
As mentioned, there were three people in the car. However, Joshua Lee Garcia, 34, was the person of interest, and he was sitting in the passenger seat of the vehicle during the traffic stop. Of course, they detained all three men and then found an Adidas bag containing “four large bundles.” After testing, it was determined that the bag contained about 4,000 grams of cocaine.
The police then transferred Jousha to the Lubbock County Detention Center. They booked him on possession charges for the 4,000 grams of narcotics, and he has a $300,000 bond. Court records also say that he is a member of a Texas gang. It’s unclear if the other two men in the vehicles faced any charges or if they will in the future.
