Indiana driver is facing a felony after getting multiple speeding tickets within 2 hours
A driver could be pulled over for a traffic stop for many reasons. One of the most common is exceeding the speed limit. This happened to a driver recently in Indiana, but the strange thing is that the man had multiple instances of speeding in only two hours. Additionally, he led police officers on a high-speed chase to escape justice, and he’s now facing a felony.
Running from a traffic stop is always a bad idea
According to Fox 59, police in Muncie, Indiana, recently pulled over a man for a traffic stop for speeding and driving with a suspended driver’s license. It seems the man only got off with a traffic citation instead of the officer also impounding his Audi A4. One would think this would have served as a lesson for the driver, but it unfortunately didn’t.
Less than two hours later, another officer noticed the same driver, Reginal Russell II, 19, speeding again. This time, they clocked him driving 65 miles per hour in a 30 MPH zone. Things intensified when, instead of complying with the traffic stop, the man turned off his headlights and sped away. Notably, this was close to midnight on April 10th.
The officer continued trying to make the traffic stop. However, the 19-year-old driver unknowingly went down a dead-end road, which led to his arrest. Ultimately, he got out of the vehicle with his hands in the air, finally complying with the police. He is now facing charges of resisting law enforcement with a vehicle, reckless driving, and driving on a suspended license. It was later discovered that he has a history of speeding, as he’s now had six traffic citations for speeding in the last four years. He could also have a Level 6 felony for evading the officer.
