Everybody knows that Toyota cars are some of the best to buy when it comes to long-term reliability. Naturally, this is also true for Toyota engines, as this is one of the most critical components. Of course, auto mechanics know which ones are the best, and one recently shared a few that drivers should look for when buying new or used Toyota vehicles.

All Toyota engines are great, but some are better than others

Recently, one of the auto mechanics from the South.Hills.Toyota TikTok account shared a list of ‘bulletproof’ Toyota engines. The video begins with the cameraman asking if there are any engines that would fit into this category of stellar reliability. The mechanic, named Tyler, said that the 5.7-liter in the Toyota Tundra is a pretty solid powerhouse for people to consider when buying a truck.

The video about Toyota engines continues, and Tyler then says the Camry and Corolla units are also “pretty stout.” When it comes to the RAV4 models, he says that they have “very good engines.” For people looking for older vehicles with ‘bulletproof’ engines, he says that Toyota cars from the mid-2000s or even earlier are built to last and don’t often experience failure.

Naturally, much goes into the reliability of Toyota or any other automaker’s engines. Drivers must be diligent about maintenance and preventing premature wear and tear. Still, auto mechanics typically agree that Toyota vehicles are workhorses largely due to their stellar engines. The same is true for Lexus since they share many engines. However, it’s important to note that proper research before buying any vehicle is paramount, as even Toyota can get it wrong.
