Georgia woman has an $11k bail after causing $20k worth of damage at a Tesla dealership
Lately, there has been an uptick in vandalism against Tesla vehicles. Now, one of the many Tesla car showrooms in the country has been among the latest targets as a Georgia woman recently opened fire and caused significant damage. Now, she’s facing some serious charges following her targeted attack.
She didn’t damage any Tesla vehicles, but her actions caused a ton of damage
According to Fox 5 Atlanta, Alexa Beckstead shot up one of the Tesla car showrooms on April 28th, just after 1 a.m. Specifically, this happened on Satellite Blvd. in Duluth, Georgia, which is close to Atlanta. Regarding the firearm, she used a BB gun and fired into the windows of the dealership. It’s unclear if she also intended to damage the dealership’s Tesla vehicles. The Gwinnett County Police Department said, “It’s about $20,000 in damage.”
Police arrested the woman on May 1 after viewing county flock cameras and footage from one of the Tesla vehicles. They also recovered her semi-automatic BB gun at the time. The authorities are unsure if she acted alone or if she had accomplices when she attacked the dealership. Additionally, they don’t know her motive for shooting out the windows at the business.
Now, the woman is out of jail on a $11,000 bond following her arrest. Regarding her charges, she has second-degree criminal damage to property. As mentioned, Tesla vehicles have become significant targets nationwide due to Elon Musk’s influence in the political space. So far, local authorities say two instances of vandalism have impacted Tesla vehicles in the county. However, in some cases, fires have been set at Tesla car showrooms in other areas. Still, this case in Georgia is developing.
