Did you know committing crimes can be exhausting? An Oregon man tuckered himself out after crashing a stolen SUV into a power pole. Residents lost power as he decided to abandon the wreck and break into an RV for a nap.

Oregon man naps in RV after crashing stolen SUV

Residents in Redmond, Oregon, were confused as they woke up without power on Sunday morning. But it wasn’t knocked out due to inclement weather.

Instead, a criminal in a stolen SUV crashed into a power pole. Police officers responded to reports of the crash around 2:30 am. They discovered the stolen Toyota 4Runner with a smashed hood, but the driver was missing.

He managed to evade police officers for hours until they received a lucky break in the case. A homeowner called 911 around 9:30 AM to report a burglary.

When police officers arrived on the scene, they found the suspect taking a nap inside a motorhome. The RV was parked in a shop on the property.

The suspect, identified as 31-year-old Tucker Lee Tyree didn’t get the best wake-up call as he was placed in handcuffs. Maybe he will get better sleep in jail.

According to KATU, Tyree faces charges for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, burglary, and an open warrant for a parole violation.

It’s unclear if the RV was damaged, but at least no people were harmed during the crime spree. Unfortunately, the 4Runner could be considered totaled if it suffered frame damage. It took a few hours to restore power to the area.
