2026 is a big year for the United States of America. It’s the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. To celebrate, Stellantis is rolling out special-edition “America250” models. And to promote the occasion, the parent company used an AI-made patriotic car ad to bring back the voice of deceased actor Kevin Yon.

Stellantis used AI to recreate a voiceover from late actor Kevin Yon to promote ‘America250’ editions for Dodge, Jeep, and others

Independence Day 2025 is on its way. But 249 years old? That doesn’t quite have the same ring as 250. As such, the “America250” is making a big deal of the milestone Semiquincentennial. The nonpartisan group’s mission is to “celebrate and commemorate” the big birthday, and Stellantis is on board.

Stellantis says it will produce several “America250” special editions to mark the occasion. Moreover, the Dodge, Jeep, Chrysler, and RAM parent company launched a car ad with patriotism in mind. More accurately, it wanted to recreate a star-spangled spot to celebrate the Semiquincentennial and highlight the upcoming special editions.

But the brand didn’t want another Glen Powell-punching-a-dragon ad, or even a throwback Vin Diesel muscle car advertisement. This time, Stellantis wanted to tap the talents of actor and past announcer Kevin Yon. Trouble is, Yon has been deceased for seven years. Enter AI. Stellantis used AI to recreate Yon’s voice for the new ad.

In the automotive giant’s defense, Yon’s family was onboard with the AI-derived vocal likeness. After all, Stellantis used past recordings of Yon along with AI technology to create the “America Made Us” advertisement.

In the advertisement, Yon’s voice delivers patriotic verbiage like “We’re made of city streets and founding principles,” and “American spirit, ideas, and beliefs.” You can check out the advertisement and its shots of Willys Jeeps, HEMI-powered muscle cars, and stereotypically American activities below.
