Ford’s record year for recalls trudges on into late summer with yet another notice. This time, the Blue Oval is recalling nearly 1.5 million cars, trucks, SUVs, and vans for reversing camera issues. It’s not just Ford’s own branded vehicles, either; the recall names two Lincoln SUVs as well.

The latest Ford recall includes over 1.4 million vehicles across 13 models for camera faults that ‘increase the risk of a crash’

Ford can’t seem to catch a break this year. By the start of the third quarter, the Blue Oval had already broken GM’s record for the most recalls in one year, with nearly 100 recalls this year alone.

The news doesn’t seem to be turning in Ford Motor Company’s favor, either. The automotive giant’s latest recall, No. 25S89, includes more than 1.4 million vehicles, spanning from the Ford Mustang to the Lincoln Navigator. It’s an expansion of the existing recall No. 25V270, which named 160,729 trucks and SUVs for reversing camera issues.

According to the NHTSA and the recall notice, the rear-facing camera may display a distorted image on the console screen, increasing the risk of a crash for drivers and passengers. Worse yet, in some instances, rearview cameras sent no image at all. Instead, drivers were met with a blank screen.

Ford and Lincoln service centers will remedy the issue with a replacement rear camera at no cost to the owner. The Blue Oval says it will notify owners by mail by September 22, 2025. Then, the automaker will follow it up with remedy notices.

If you suspect your vehicle is included in this recall or notice a blank or distorted reversing camera image, you can verify your vehicle’s recall status online. Owners can use the NHTSA’s VIN lookup tool
