‘It’s not a real truck’ Driver defends Honda Ridgeline against haters
Did y’all know that pickup trucks give people feelings? There’s pride, joy, regret, and more in the lives of passionate drivers. But sometimes people put trucks like the Honda Ridgeline down for being unibody. But one man defends it as a real truck with a few good points.
Why the unibody Honda Ridgeline is worth considering
TikTok user @sean.chandler doesn’t beat around the bush. He immediately points out that people say the Honda Ridgeline isn’t a real truck because of its unibody design. However, it has a few advantages to consider.
It’s the safest truck in its class as the only option with a five-star rating. Only the Toyota Tacoma comes close to its ratings due to modern tech. But the Ford Ranger, Chevrolet Colorado, and Jeep Gladiator lag behind.
Also, the unibody design provides more cargo space solutions. For example, the Ridgeline has a massive in-bed trunk that can fit a human body. It can also be used as a cooler, which is convenient at tailgating events.
Sean mentions that there isn’t a tall step-in height, which is nice. But I like climbing up into trucks. However, the high liftover height can make lifting my Beagle Blue Heeler mix into the back annoying.
Plus, it has an abundance of passenger space. It provides four more inches of legroom in the rear than the Toyota Tacoma. At 5’1”, I didn’t even want to try squeezing into the back of the Tacoma.
Sean also says the Ridgeline has a smoother ride without that clunky, pickup truck feeling. You also forget you’re in a truck. However, when I hit rough spots and my truck shakes, I’m proud to be reminded that I’m driving my beloved truck.
But there are different strokes for different folks. Do you think the Ridgeline is a real truck?
