Ohio man is facing serious time after a traffic stop uncovered $146k worth of hardcore drugs
Police officers never know what they may find when they pull people over for a traffic stop. There could be guns, people wanted for warrants, or copious amounts of illegal drugs. Recently, the latter of the three happened in Ohio when local police officers made a traffic stop on a GMC Yukon. Now, the driver is facing serious possession charges.
An Ohio traffic stop uncovered almost $150k worth of drugs
There are many reasons why anyone could be subjected to a traffic stop. According to WBKN, police officers in Scioto County, Ohio, pulled over a 2023 GMC Yukon for a moving violation. As is usually the case, the officers on the scene talked to the driver in order to take his identifying information. It was during this interview that they noticed what appeared to be cocaine residue in the vehicle.
Naturally, things then escalated with the traffic stop, and the police officers conducted a search of the SUV. This also means they detained the driver as they searched. Of course, they didn’t come up empty-handed, as they found two hardcore drugs. This includes three pounds of crystal methamphetamine as well as 70 grams of fentanyl. The drugs have a street value of $146,662.
Of course, the police officers arrested the man after the traffic stop. They took him to the Scioto County Jail, and he’s being charged with drug possession. Naturally, it’s beyond reasonable to assume that the driver was a part of a larger drug enterprise due to the large amount of narcotics police found in the vehicle.
