This year, Tesla gave the Model S and Model X a refresh inside and out. Unlike the Model 3 and Model Y, however, the update is understated to say the least. The brand did, however, stretch the dual-motor 2025 Tesla Model S All-Wheel Drive to an estimated 410 miles on a single charge. That makes the new base-model Model S the longest-legged production Tesla EV yet.

“New” might be a stretch for the Tesla Model S, but the brand’s latest luxury sedan has the longest legs of any Tesla

Tesla recently refreshed the Model Y with its ‘Juniper’ update. The update included an overhaul of the brand’s best-selling EV, from a completely different look to a more nicely-appointed interior. Now, the automaker turned its attention to its most posh of offerings, the Model S sedan and the Model X SUV.

The Model S, however, didn’t get the exterior update you might expect. No horizontal light bars up front or in the rear. It’s much of the familiar here, from the half-Mazda badge headlamps to the same silhouette as the outgoing model. Tesla seems keen to show off the yoke steering wheel that angered so many fans in the past. Fortunately, a standard steering wheel is a no-cost addition to the options list.

But, along with some suspension upgrades, the best bit of the new refresh is the claim to the “longest range Tesla yet” for the Model S All-Wheel Drive. Specifically, the electric automaker says the dual-motor 2025 Tesla Model S All-Wheel Drive will manage 410 miles on a single charge with its 100 kWh battery pack. It’s a five-mile improvement over the previous Model S Long Range, but enough to hand the crown to the new model.

Tesla says the new luxury sedan has the “longest range in our line-up.” However, the sort-of new look and extra mileage come at a premium. Across the lineup, the Model S will demand around $5,000 over the starting prices of the outgoing EVs, with the Model S All-Wheel Drive starting at around $84,990.
