The most violent road rage city in America just made the list of the most boring cities
There are dangerous cities, and then there are dangerous cities. Houston, Texas, for instance, tops the charts for being the most violent city in the country for road rage incidents. That’s everything from angry, reckless driving to straight-up street shootings. Interestingly enough, though, the Lone Star State’s most populated metropolis just made the list of the most boring cities in the country.
Houston, Texas, tops the list of the most road rage-prone cities in America
We’ve all seen road rage. Excessive tailgating, blocking other drivers, gesturing, and even physical violence on the nation’s roads. And Houston, the biggest city in Texas by population density, is the most dangerous city in the country for those dangerous street and highway outbursts.
Houston takes the No.1 spot among the top five most dangerous cities, ahead of Los Angeles, Chicago, Nashville, and Miami. The data holds that Houstonites are far and away the most likely urban drivers in the country to resort to gun violence to solve a spat on the road.
Houston also registers as one of the most boring cities in America
A recent list of the “most boring” cities in the country ranked the top 20 locations in the country for their yawn factor. To arrive at the rankings, the list took elements like “excitement, culture, and popular activities” to judge 75 cities.
According to FinanceBuzz, Houston takes the No. 18 spot among the most boring cities in the country. FinanceBuzz awarded the Texas city a score of 25.0 on their fun metric. The closer a city registers to zero, the more boring it is.
None of the other road rage champions took a spot in the top 20 most boring cities in the country. Houston is the only holdout. On the other hand, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, took the No. 4 spot overall with a score of 18.2.
That might track, given the fact that Sioux Falls also ranked in the top five safest cities to escape the heinousness of road rage. None of the other safest contenders, like Lincoln, Nebraska, registered on the list of the most boring cities in the country.
