You’ve been warned! An experienced mechanic shared three used trucks that you should never buy. If you’re in the market for a used pickup truck then there three models might be more trouble than they’re worth.

A mechanic warns about 3 used trucks that aren’t worth buying

Thomasz Marzukiewicz, CEO of Truck1 provided a list of used trucks that you should never buy. As an experienced mechanic, he’s seen a lot of problems with these options.

1. The 2018 Ford F-150

The first truck to avoid is the 2018 Ford F-150. While it looks good, it’s poorly functioning due to serious transmission problems. There are reports of transmission failure and rough downshifting.

Not only are they expensive but it impacts driver comfort and safety. Plus, there are multiple reports of early engine stall-outs and failure.

    2. The 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

The 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500 is another used truck to consider with caution. However, the dynamic fuel management system could be problematic.

It was designed to increase fuel efficiency, but drivers report that it often misfires. There are also reports of lifter failures. Lifter replacement costs start in the thousands, ruining the value of this truck.

Plus, drivers have shared multiple complaints about the cheap interior quality and annoying tech glitches.

      3. The 2020 Nissan Titan

Marzukiewicz shared that the 2020 Nissan Titan may seem like a good deal because it has a lower price point than its rivals. However, its lower dependability scores don’t make this truck worth the savings.

The nine-speed automatic transmission has shifting problems. It’s very inconsistent, making the Titan uncomfortable.

Plus, it has a lower towing and payload capacity than its rivals. Thomasz explained that it’s not a good option for drivers who need a serious workhorse. It can tow up to 9,400 lbs and carry a payload of up to 1,696 lbs.
