It’s indisputable that Jeep makes some of the best SUVs to buy. This is especially the case for those looking for a versatile model. Still, the automaker isn’t perfect, and many say Jeep vehicles are unreliable. Now, there’s a new class action suit launched at the automaker over the risk of underhood fires. This follows car recalls related to the issue.  Notably, this lawsuit includes some of its most popular models.

Jeep has a new class action suit over its vehicles

Like other Stellantis brands, Jeep hasn’t had the best go of things lately. Sales are down, and many feel that the cost of Jeep vehicles is too high. Now, to add insult to injury, there’s a new class action suit. According to Top Class Actions, a Jeep owner by the name of Stan Paris began legal proceedings against FCA US LLC on January 7th in Michigan.

So, what is the class action suit over? The lawsuit claims the automaker knowingly sold Jeep vehicles that could experience underhood fires. This includes the 2020-2024 Jeep Wrangler, the 2021-2023 Jeep Gladiator, and the Jeep Cherokee from 2022-2024. Of course, many call these some of the best SUVs and trucks to buy. These models have issues with the power steering pump electrical connector or the high-voltage battery, which can cause fires. Sadly, the suit says this can happen when the vehicles are off.

Regarding proof behind the class action suit, Stan says there have been investigations into this issue as well as car recalls. Additionally, there have been other complaints and at least one injury related to the problem. He also says that he and other people with these Jeep vehicles are at risk as they “could catch fire at any second.” He wants a jury trial in order to resolve this ongoing situation.
