The battle of the monster trucks has a new winner. The Ford F-150 Raptor R pushed the envelope further to provide more power than the Ram 1500 TRX. Plus, the 2024 Ford F-150 Raptor R might not have any real competition for years.

How much HP does the 2024 Ford F-150 Raptor R have?

The 2024 Ford F-150 Raptor R packs a powerful punch with 720 hp and 640 lb-ft of torque. The 2024 Ram 1500 has 702 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque. So, the Raptor R officially beats it with 18 extra horses.

Plus, the Raptor R has a 20 hp increase over the outgoing model. It uses a supercharged 5.2-liter V8 to achieve these figures. It’s a variant of the 5.2-liter engine found in the Ford Mustang Shebly GT500, where it generates 760 hp.

It was retuned with a new engine calibration and reduced air inlet loss to gain extra ponies. Changes to the hood and body close-out panel also increase airflow to the air filter. The engine is paired with a standard 4×4 and a 10-speed automatic transmission.

The Ram 1500 TRX has its same old 6.2-liter V8 Hemi, which is on its deathbed. This truck is being discontinued after 2024, so it won’t fight back with engine modifications.

But an all-new model called the Ram 1500 RHO is allegedly filling the sport truck slot. It could use the brand’s Hurricane High-Output engine, which is a twin-turbocharged inline-six unit.

It cranks out up to 540 hp and 521 lb-ft of torque. That’s enough power for the Ram Rebel, but not to tackle the Raptor R.

Other Raptor R updates include an exclusive shade of Shelter Green paint, a new shift indicator, and a new head-up display layout.

Also, the updated Fox Live Valve shocks now adjust the rebound and compression to improve comfort while off-roading and sticking to the pavement.

The Raptor R has a monstrous price tag and starts at about $109,000 without the $1,995 destination charge. No performance stats have been released, but we’ll keep an eye out for updates.
