Legendary TV personality Ellen DeGeneres is the subject of a lawsuit following a California T-bone car crash
In 2024, Ellen DeGeneres moved to the countryside of the United Kingdom. Now, a year later, she’s being chased by a lawsuit for negligent driving after a 2023 car crash in Santa Barbara County, California.
According to The Independent, DeGeneres was driving Northwest of Los Angeles when she allegedly ran a stop sign. While all too many Americans treat stop signs as suggestions, this instance resulted in DeGeneres reportedly T-boning another car, meaning she struck the other car broadside with the front of her vehicle.
The lawsuit asserts that the intersection in question is a four-way stop application. That means there are stop signs at every entrance, and drivers take turns entering and exiting the intersection.
The plaintiff, years after the crash, is suing Ellen for negligence. “Ellen DeGeneres entered the intersection without stopping at the stop sign,” the lawsuit says. As a result, the plaintiff’s legal team asserts that she experienced “multiple serious personal injuries and damages,” resulting in lost wages, anxiety, and emotional distress.
Details about the car DeGeneres was driving at the time of the wreck are thin. But Ellen seems to have a history with cars. Ellen has driven around in a veritable dream garage full of noteworthy rides. The celeb seems to have a penchant for Porsches. If you doubt that much, nosy cameras have caught her driving about town in a 993, a 997 911 Turbo S, a 992 911 Carrera S, and a Panamera.
