However, the Chevy Tahoe doesn’t provide a lot of savings because it starts around $49k, making it an expensive option as well.

Also, both of these vehicles are so similar that they both have the same, terrible fuel economy. The Suburban and Tahoe both only get up to 15 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the highway.

Chevy Suburban And Chevy Tahoe Power

The Chevy Suburban has two different engine options available. The 5.3-liter V8 engine provides 335 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque.

You can also upgrade to the 6.2-liter V8 engine that pumps out 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. This amount of power allows the Suburban to tow up to 8,300 lb.

Also, the Chevy Suburban has a reasonable amount of pep. It takes 7.1 seconds to go from 0 to 60 mph.

The Chevrolet Tahoe has the same engine options as the Suburban. Only the Tahoe can tow up to 8,600 lb. But does a 300lb difference in towing capabilities make a huge difference?

However, the Chevy Tahoe is notably faster. It only takes 5.9 seconds to go from 0 to 60 mph. This is probably due to its slightly smaller size.

Both of these SUVs are available with tires between 17” to 22”. They both have the Z71 off-roading package available as well to make off-roading easier

But the Suburban may offer a smoother ride because it has a premier smooth ride suspension available, and the Tahoe does not. Also, the Suburban has a larger wheelbase for added comfort as well.

Chevy Tahoe And Chevy Suburban Features

The Chevy Tahoe only has 15.3 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row. Then it only has 94.7 cubic feet of cargo space total.

The Suburban is also much longer and better able to haul longer items inside the cab, Sometimes boards for worksites are too long to fit inside of the Tahoe.
