Everyone knows that driving while under the influence is one of the most dangerous things a person can do. It causes several fatal car wrecks each year and tons of other destruction. Recently, Nevada police came across an SUV in a life-threatening situation after a driver committed this crime. Now, they have a DUI charge, and the police are using it as a teachable moment for others.

Driving under the influence is never okay

According to NBC 3 News, Nevada State police are issuing a warning about driving under the influence after being called out to an incredibly distressing situation. The report states that they responded to the I-11 southbound Rainbow Transition on-ramp in Las Vegas. Once on the scene, they located an SUV hanging off the side of the interstate. This happened on the morning of April 18th.

We don’t know the circumstances around the person who decided to drive under the influence. However, we know they were arrested and now face at least a DUI charge. Of course, things could have been much worse for the driver, as this had the potential to turn into another of those fatal car wrecks caused by impairment. As mentioned, the police are using this as a teachable moment. They did so by taking to social media to once again educate drivers about the dangers of drinking and driving.

According to the post about driving under the influence, “Our two biggest contributing factors to fatal crashes are speed and impairment. You drink, you drive, you lose. Drive sober.” This is a developing story.
