Texas driver faces $10k repair bill from contaminated gas at Rosenberg Chevron
Most people agree that Chevron is one of the most trusted options for using gas station pumps. However, several Texas drivers now have massive repair bills after filling up at the station. Notably, the station sold gas that had water in it. This includes one man with a $10,000 quote to get his vehicle fixed by local auto mechanics.
The pumps at this Chevron gas station caused widespread issues
According to ABC 13, Joshua Nguyen used the pumps at the Chevron gas station on Benton Road in late April. Everything seemed normal at first, but then this changed. Minutes after driving off, he began to experience severe car problems. Joshua said, “My car basically died. It wouldn’t turn on. My thoughts were maybe a transmission problem.” The check engine light also came on.
Naturally, he sought the help of auto mechanics after using the pumps at the Chevron gas station. The man learned the following day that he had gotten gas that had water in it. As mentioned, the repair bill was $10,000. Josh continued, “My stomach dropped to the ground. One, because of the bill, and two, because I’m like, okay, well, what’s next for my car?” He informed the gas station about the issue, and now it seems there are 21 claims with Chevron’s insurance company over the same problem.
The manager at Chevron has admitted that the gas station pumps had somehow been contaminated with water. However, they are unsure how. Now, there are talks of a lawsuit against the company. However, Josh and the other victims are seeking a quick path to repayment, and a lawsuit could take years. Readers should note that this is one reason to hold on to receipts from gas stations. Experts also say that bank statements will do. It’s also important to note that gas contamination often happens during delivery.
