North Carolina driver is in jail after a hit-and-run at a restaurant and crashing through the fire department
Everyone knows that the decision to drive while under the influence is never a good idea. Sadly, many people still do it, and some cause car wrecks. This recently happened in North Carolina when the police arrested a man for DUI after being accused of causing multiple car accidents.
He decided to drive while under the influence and caused two car wrecks
Several car wrecks happen each year. Sadly, many involve fatalities, as well as a person who decided to drive while under the influence. According to WBTV 3, a man did this in North Carolina recently, but luckily, no one was injured. The report says this happened on December 9th when Michael Davis, 27, drove through the garage door at Morganton Fire Station 3. He also hit a fire truck in the process. After the collision, the officials say that he exited the vehicle and said, “People were coming after him.”
Naturally, they called the police, and he was arrested due to having decided to drive while under the influence. However, it doesn’t end there when it comes to car wrecks Michael caused. Authorities are also accusing him of a hit-and-run at a Bojangles restaurant a little more than half a mile from the fire station. Apparently, he collided with another car twice before fleeing. As mentioned, no one was hurt in the hit-and-run.
Michael is now facing multiple charges following deciding to drive under the influence and cause these car wrecks. He has five in total, and they include the following:
- Hit-and-run
- Failure to report an accident
- Driving while impaired
- Careless and reckless driving
- Damage to real property
