Car theft is a significant problem for vehicle owners worldwide. However, this doesn’t always involve stolen vehicles from people or car showrooms. Instead, it sometimes means people are breaking into cars and stealing items. This happened recently in Missouri, and the suspect ran and tried to evade a traffic stop. Sadly, it took multiple law enforcement agencies to catch him.

Not only did he commit a form of car theft, but the suspect tried to evade a traffic stop

According to Fox 2 Now, police recently received word of car theft in a neighborhood sometime after midnight. Instead of stealing cars, it sounds like the suspect was breaking into them and attempting to steal items. Sadly, they were able to get away before the police got there. The officers then spotted them headed towards a cemetery and tried to conduct a traffic stop from which the driver ran. This was around 1:15 am.

The chase lasted more than half an hour in total. The police followed the suspect through multiple streets while trying to make the traffic stop, but he refused to pull over. Of course, this presented a degree of danger for anyone on the road at this late hour. Unfortunately, the car theft suspect ended up crashing just before 2 a.m. This led to the arrest of one person, but the law enforcement officers believe there may be others at large.

Multiple agencies were looking for the car theft suspect. They also used the K-9 unit to help find the suspects after the crash. Luckily, no one was hurt during the police chase, but the report says a squad car may have been hit.
