Car theft is a common crime when it comes to passenger vehicles. However, one woman in Arizona recently made the decision to steal an Amazon delivery truck and then evade a police traffic stop. Now, she’s in hot water for her actions right before the holidays.

Car theft is one of the most significant crimes in the country

According to Fox 10 Phoenix, police officers received a call on the evening of December 21st about a car theft involving an Amazon truck. In fact, it was the delivery driver who had called them. Apparently, the driver was in the process of delivering a package when the vehicle went missing. Luckily, the police officers soon located the truck and tried to conduct a traffic stop.

Sadly, like many car theft perpetrators, the woman refused to pull over for a traffic stop. Instead, she continued driving for a while. However, she eventually stopped the stolen truck and tried to get away on foot. This is when the police were able to catch her and place her in handcuffs. The report does not say that the woman, Salina Duran, 31, put up a fight with the arresting officers.

Now, she is facing charges for committing car theft on the Amazon delivery truck. They include theft of means of transportation and unlawful flight from law enforcement. Notably, they are holding her on a $50,100 bond for the crimes she committed. Luckily, no one was hurt in this situation. However, it’s unclear what her motives were for taking the truck.
