Ford is no stranger to a car recall. Of course, this isn’t a diss to the Blue Oval; instead, it’s an acknowledgment that issues often arise during the manufacturing process. According to Reuters, this recall includes about 20,484 units of hybrid crossover SUVs from Ford and Lincoln. Specifically, it impacts the Ford Escape and Lincoln Corsair from 2020 to 2024. 

So, what is the precise reason for this car recall? Apparently, there is an issue that could cause the batteries in these popular crossover SUVs to fail. The report says, “A manufacturing defect in one or more of the high voltage battery cells may result in an internal short circuit and battery failure.” Naturally, this is more than a mere inconvenience; it could also become a safety issue. 

As is the case with any car recall, auto mechanics at Ford dealerships will fix the issue for free. If needed, this will include a software update and a free replacement for the high-voltage battery pack. Owners can expect an official recall notice from Ford Motor Co.
