Car enthusiasts have several nonharmful hobbies related to their love of vehicles. However, there are some destructive pastimes, including street takeovers and sideshows. There was recently a sideshow in the Bay Area, which caused the police to try to conduct multiple traffic stops. Unfortunately, the respective drivers refused to comply with the police traffic stop, which led to several arrests, vehicles being impounded, and at least one gun being uncovered.

These people wouldn’t pull over for a traffic stop

According to KRON4, there was a massive car sideshow in the Bay Area of California on the night of October 20th. Unfortunately, this required not only the California Highway Patrol but also the assistance of the CHP H-30 helicopter to apprehend the suspects. Things got so intense that there ended up being several police chases as the drivers tried their best to evade a traffic stop.

The  Vallejo Police Department was also on the scene, and they were able to arrest two suspects quickly after a traffic stop. However, many other drivers made their way to other nearby cities and towns, which involved several other law enforcement entities. Most of the sideshow group made their way to Richmond, where the police arrested several people. However, two drivers found themselves in handcuffs in San Fransico. Police officers also made 16 arrests in Oakland.

In the end, officers arrested 20 people, impounded eight cars, and seized one firearm. Some of the drivers actually complied with the traffic stop police attempted, but many others tried their best to get away. It’s currently unclear what the drivers will be charged with. However, it’s fair to assume they’ll have some severe penalties.

So, what is a car sideshow? This is basically when a group of gearheads get together and show off what their cars can do. Often, this includes doing burn-outs and donuts. As anyone can imagine, this dangerous activity usually shuts down public streets.
