It’s no secret that companies from most industries are suffering right now. However, this is especially the case when it comes to the automotive world. Now, Advance Auto Parts has announced that it plans to close several stores nationwide. Of course, some auto mechanics warn against the store, but it has been a staple for others for decades.

Auto mechanics have mixed opinions on the struggling Advance Auto Parts

Auto mechanics have many places to buy new tools and car parts for repairs. However, many rely on Advance Auto Parts. Of course, the same is true for laypeople who patronize the stores for various parts, fluids, etc. According to Cleveland 19, the company recently announced during an earnings call that it plans to close more than 700 locations. This includes 500 corporate stores and 200 independently owned locations.

Despite still being popular with some auto mechanics and general buyers, the company says it’s making this move to “improve business performance with a focus on core retail improvements.” However, Advance Auto Parts leadership did not reveal which locations it plans to close. The report says these changes will happen by mid-2025.

Currently, Advance Auto Parts has 4,781 stores, mainly in the U.S. However, they also have locations In Canada, Puerto Rico, and the U.S Virgin Islands. Naturally, there is much more competition in the auto parts world than there once was. Not only are there other chain stores that cater to this need, but many auto mechanics and drivers now take to the internet to find the materials they need.
