The 2022 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing Is a BMW M3 on a Budget

Despite its appellation, the CT4-V hasn’t quite been living up to its predecessor, the Cadillac ATS-V. While it has an excellent engine, it’s a bit too heavy and less spacious than some of its rivals. Chief among them is the BMW M3, recently updated for 2021. But now, Cadillac has unveiled the 2022 CT4-V Blackwing. …

The 2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing Overpowers the BMW M5

The future of GM’s brands, including Cadillac, is electric. Which, considering EVs’ performance potential, isn’t a bad thing by any means. But before it goes electric, Cadillac is giving ICE cars one last hurrah. It’s been teased for quite some time, but the 2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing is finally here. And it’s packing more power …

The BMW 320is Was the Italian ‘Tax Special’ E30 M3

Even today, the E30 M3 holds a special place in BMW fans’ hearts and the hearts of car fans in general. But, as is the case today, not everyone could afford it, and it wasn’t always the best choice for commuting. However, as with the 330i ZHP, there was a way to get some of …

Critics Are Split Over the 2022 Acura MDX

The TLX sedan isn’t the only Acura that’s getting some significant upgrades. The 3-row MDX SUV is getting a redesign, too, for the 2022 model year. But while the redesign comes with a new interior and a new performance trim, it’s inherited a problem: split opinions. Just like the 2020 model, the 2022 Acura MDX …

Suzuki Is Letting the Hayabusa Fly Once More

While bikes like the BMW S 1000 RR can out-handle the Hayabusa, the Suzuki sportbike wasn’t really about corner carving. No, it earned its reputation on its ludicrous levels of speed. Unfortunately, regulation changes meant Suzuki had to clip the Hayabusa’s wings, seemingly for good. But based on some recently-released videos, it seems the ‘Busa …

Can HID and LED Headlights Damage Your Eyes?

Car headlights shine so brightly today in part because, as with many automotive accessories, new technologies are available. Instead of halogen bulbs, headlights now often feature HID bulbs or LEDs. However, while dim lights can be a safety hazard, so can blindingly-bright ones. But more than simply dazzling drivers, can HID and LED headlights cause …
The diagram of Michelin's electric reverse motorcycle motor patent

Michelin’s Patent Could Give Any Motorcycle a Reverse Gear

From quickshifters to lighter wheels, there are plenty of accessories available to motorcycle riders. Some modifications focus on making the bike quicker. But others, like aftermarket mirrors, are about making riding easier, safer, and/or more comfortable. The latest patent from Michelin falls into that vein. But it’s not, as you might expect, some kind of …

The Legendary Jaguar C-Type Will (Briefly) Prowl Again

While replicas can finally be sold with powertrains, they’re not the only ways of getting brand-new classic cars. Several automakers have been dipping into their histories and reviving hallowed models with modern build standards. Bentley, for example, brought back the Blower; F1 manufacturer BRM is building new V16-powered Type 15s. And then there’s Jaguar, which …

Why Do the Brightest Car Headlights Seem To Be the Bluest?

Although bright car headlights can be annoyingly dazzling, your lights are key safety accessories. Poor headlight performance is what led the IIHS to rank the Subaru Outback lower than the Legacy, for example. Still, as anyone who’s been blinded by an oncoming car with aftermarket LED or HID headlights can attest to, it’s possible to …

A Used Lexus LS 460 Is a Better Bargain Than the 2021 LS 500

The original LS was a genuine industry shift for luxury cars. However, the latest versions of Lexus’s flagship sedan have arguably lost their premium edge and their bargain pricing. But sometimes, buying a used Lexus makes more sense than getting a brand-new one. And as YouTube team Throttle House explains, when it comes to the …

Will the 2022 Indian FTR Leave the Harley-Davidson Custom 1250 in the Dust?

While the Custom 1250’s future was uncertain, Harley-Davidson is indeed putting the concept bike into production. And while it broadly follows the cruiser formula, the motorcycle has a few flat-tracker elements, too. But until it officially debuts, the only street-legal American factory flat-tracker is the Indian FTR. And for 2022, Indian is giving it an …

LED or Halogen, Color Temperature Matters for Headlights

Even if you’re not planning on installing some LEDs, headlights are a common car maintenance item. And even if you’re sticking to halogen ones, making sure your headlights are clean and clear is an important safety concern. But how bright the lights are isn’t the only thing to pay attention to when picking out bulbs. …

The 2022 M5 CS Is the Fastest and Most Powerful BMW Yet

M cars are already fast and sporty BMWs. And if you want one that’s even faster and sharper, the German automaker now offers Competition variants. Like, for example, the BMW M5 Competition, the most powerful road car the company has ever made—up until now. Because that moniker now belongs to the 2022 BMW M5 CS. …

The McLaren Elva Makes a $1.7-Million Statement: No Windshield, No Problem

Removing windshields seems to be a recent trend in the hypercar and supercar world. Aston Martin is doing it with the V12 Speedster. So is Lamborghini with its one-off SC20. And then there’s the 2021 McLaren Elva, which stickers at just under $1.7 million. But what’s it like to drive a car like that? The …

You Might Score a Free 2021 Volvo During Super Bowl LV

Usually, the Super Bowl is when automakers try to use ads to sell you on their cars. But football games can also be a chance for people to win cars, too. And for Super Bowl LV, Volvo is pulling a little from both categories. The Swedish automaker is planning to give away a significant number …

Jay Leno Takes a Lancia Stratos HF Rally Legend for a Spin

While its future under Stellantis is uncertain, Lancia has an incredible heritage, especially when it comes to rallying. The Delta Integrale, for example, still holds the record for the most WRC wins in a row. And the 037 was the last rear-wheel-drive car to beat the AWD Audi Quattro. Then there’s the subject of Jay …

The Kawasaki KLR650 Is Back To Explore Once More

2-wheeled off-roading fans certainly had reason to mourn when Kawasaki discontinued the KLR650 in 2018. Although the dual-sport was a bit of a dinosaur, its simplicity was part of its appeal; hence its 32-year production run. Still, while used models are plentiful and affordable, the cancellation left Kawasaki without an entry for the currently-booming large-capacity …
