While it makes several retro bikes, Triumph is arguably best-known for the iconic Bonneville. And for 2022, the entire lineup is getting an update. But there’s another vintage-style motorcycle that was also recently updated: the Moto Guzzi V7. So, now that these classic-looking bikes have been refreshed, which one should you pick? Reliable VW Engines Aren’t Always Found in Volkswagens

Owning multiple brands doesn’t just let automakers like Volkswagen have more market share. It also means those brands can share technology, from platforms to powertrains. So, if you’re looking at a used Audi, it’s very likely it has the same engine as a Volkswagen. Naturally, that means it can suffer from the same issues. But …

Gunther Werks’ 911 Speedster Is a Limited-Edition ‘Bargain’

As enjoyable as vintage 911s may be, a significant portion of Porsche’s fanbase is constantly trying to sharpen and improve them. Singer is arguably the biggest name in the 911 restomod game, but several other shops have put their own spin on the concept. Among them is California-based Gunther Werks, known for turning 993s into …

Which Used Audi Engines Are the Most Reliable?

With how expensive engine repairs can be, a used Audi can easily turn from bargain to nightmare. However, while some Audis can be problematic, not all of them are. And while no engine is truly perfect, the ones described below are fairly trouble-free. For used Audis with a 1.8T or 2.0T, go with an EA113 …

The Gordon Murray T.50s Niki Lauda Is a Birthday Tribute To a Legend

When the designer of the McLaren F1 announces he’s making a new hypercar, you pay attention. Such was the case last year when Gordon Murray unveiled the T.50. However, as technologically incredible as that car is, Murray hinted that something even more extreme was coming. And now, it’s finally here, baring a name many Formula …

Will Ford Bring a Plug-in Hybrid Ranger To the US?

The 2021 F-150’s hybrid powertrain isn’t just a selling point for Ford’s flagship truck. Even outside of literally helping save lives, it’s a significant shift for the pickup market as a whole. But as Chevrolet readies its battery-powered electric pickup, Ford is adding yet another hybrid truck to its lineup. However, does that mean customers …

If you want a brand-new car with a truly classic spirit, you turn to Morgan. Although the British brand’s models are being modernized a bit, they still echo their vintage forebears. Especially the throwback that is the Morgan 3-Wheeler. But as odd as it may look to some, Jay Leno is a firm 3-Wheeler fan. …

Can the Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo Really Go Off-Road?

Though prized for their luxury status, Porsche’s cars are often more capable than many think—especially outside of a paved racetrack. The Cayenne has competed in rallies, for example, as have vintage 924s. Even the compact Macan crossover can take to the dirt somewhat. But what about the upcoming electric Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo? The Porsche …

The V8 Returns in the 2022 Lexus IS 500 F Sport Performance

While the 2021 IS 350 F Sport isn’t exactly a dud, the Lexus sedan isn’t quite as sporty or exciting as it should be. And one of the reasons is the car’s somewhat-lackluster power-to-weight ratio. However, the 2022 Lexus IS 500 F Sport Performance promises to address that. And its solution comes courtesy of something …

The 1986 Ford RS200 Evolution Is a Group B Rally Beast

Rallying, like many other forms of automotive racing, makes automakers pursue intriguing and oftentimes kooky solutions to speed. Renault, for example, turned a front-engine, FWD hatchback into a mid-engine RWD one. The Citroen 2CV Sahara has 4WD and two engines. And the Lancia Delta Integrale’s predecessor, the Delta S4, had both a turbocharger and a …

Are Car Dealers Even Ready To Sell You an Electric Vehicle?

With battery prices dropping and model selection increasing, it’s clear that EVs are becoming increasingly prevalent in the automotive marketplace. However, electric cars still have several obstacles left to overcome, such as a paucity of convenient charging stations. But the car dealers themselves may also be standing in the way. Not all car dealers are …

Can You Convert a Classic Motorcycle Into an Electric One?

While riding a classic motorcycle can certainly be fun, it requires some additional upkeep compared to a modern one. Classic bikes have carburetors, for one, as well as older ignition systems and brake designs. Admittedly, you can upgrade or swap out these vintage components for modern parts that require less maintenance. But what about ditching …

Third Time’s the Charm: Buell Motorcycles Is Back—Again

Sometimes, a shuttered motorcycle brand comes back from the dead. It happened to Indian, after all, and Soriano. And some companies are resurrected more than once. Up until now, it seemed like Buell Motorcycles would just be another brand left by the wayside. But now it’s back for the third time. Buell Motorcycles and EBR …

Bring a Trailer Bargain of the Week: 1964 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ45 Pickup

Vintage SUV values have been on the rise lately. And one of the classic models that helped kick off the trend was the legendarily-rugged FJ40-series Toyota Land Cruiser. Today, thanks to those market forces and the restomodding industry, FJ40s are usually fairly pricey. But that’s not the case with this week’s Bring a Trailer bargain: …

Matchless: A Classic British Motorcycle Marque Worth Remembering

For every revived motorcycle brand like BSA, there’s an equal number of classic ones that still lay by the wayside. Here in the US, for example, we have historic brands like Henderson and Pierce-Arrow. And from Britain, we have marques like Vincent and Velocette. But there’s also Matchless. Matchless made its reputation through winning races …

However, over in Europe, Ford has yet another model, the Puma ST. And recently it found a supporter over here in …

2021 Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 vs. BMW Alpina XB7: Which 6-Figure Speedy SUV Is Worthier?

While the M badge proclaims a hardcore high-performance BMW, the Alpina logo signifies a high-speed luxury GT. And for 2021, it appears on the German brand’s range-topping SUV, the BMW Alpina XB7. But if you want to storm down roads in comfort, there’s also the equally-expensive 2021 Mercedes-AMG GLS 63. So, which of these premium …
