Now, the driver and the passenger are facing serious charges.
Many car modifications can lead to a traffic stop
Mods for cars are pretty popular. After all, people love to customize their vehicles. However, according to WBSTV 2, Atlanta police department officers conducted a traffic stop on a car on November 16th. The reason for the stop was that the window tint was too dark to meet regulations. The good part of this story is that the driver complied and pulled over.
However, things took a turn during the traffic stop when the police officers noticed the smell of marijuana coming from the car. Of course, this means that the issue escalated, and the officers searched the vehicle. During the search, they found several illegal items. This includes 1,490 grams of marijuana and 17 digital scales. There were also guns, including a Glock 33, a Glock 19X, and a 30-round extended magazine. Of course, there was also cash totaling $2,573.
Both vehicle occupants, Eric Bell and Nicholas Thompson, were arrested during the traffic stop. Tompson, the driver, is being charged with a window tint violation, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. Bell’s charges include a seatbelt violation, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
They were taken to the Fulton County Jail.
