One of the harsh realities of law enforcement is that police officers never know what they’ll find during traffic stops. There could be unregistered weapons, instances of kidnapping, or practically anything else. Recently, police in Alabama conducted a traffic stop and uncovered a massive amount of illegal drugs. Now, the driver is facing some serious charges.

This Alabama traffic stop uncovered a drug trafficking enterprise

According to Yahoo News, the Colbert County Drug Task Force recently conducted a traffic stop in Sheffield, Alabama. This occurred on East 31st Street, but there’s no word on the initial reason for the stop. However, the police officers on the scene saw fit to search the vehicle. The good part of the story is that it seems the driver, Rylee Jeane Burkett, 22, complied with the officers.

Sadly, things took a bit of a turn during the traffic stop. While searching the car, the officers found a brown box and a plastic bag. As you may have guessed, there were illegal drugs inside the bag. Specifically, the Colbert County Drug Task Force found 2,692 fentanyl pills. Naturally, she was arrested and is being charged with trafficking. Her bond was set for $350,000.

Of course, the idea of police officers locating drugs during a traffic stop is far from being unheard of. However, this is a large volume of what is considered to be one of the most dangerous drugs on the street. Of course, drug trafficking is a felony, which means Rylee is facing a pretty harsh sentence.
