Recently, critics have been pretty excited about how much range the Toyota Tundra Hybrid has. But drivers worry that hybrid trucks aren’t as reliable as traditional combustion engines. Plus, there are diesel trucks that offer more range.

How much range does the Toyota Tundra Hybrid have?

Drum roll, please! The 2025 Toyota Tundra Hybrid has a range of between 670 to 744 miles on a single tank of gas. According to Kelly Blue Book, It gets an EPA-estimated 20 mpg in the city and up to 24 mpg on the highway.

I’ve driven multiple Tundra models equipped with the hybrid engine. However, I always fall short of the fuel estimates. I’ve never gotten more than about 18 mpg. This is with off-roading, long distance travel, and running errands in the city.

But I will admit that the potent i-FORCE MAX twin-turbocharged V6 hybrid system with 437 hp and 583 lb-ft of torque is tons of fun.

The first alternative to consider is the Ram 1500 EcoDiesel. You’ll have to buy a used model as this engine was discontinued.

However, it has a range of over 1,000 miles on a single fill-up. Plus, it gets an EPA-estimated 22 mpg in the city and up to 32 mpg on the highway. The 3.0-liter V6 EcoDiesel engine generates 260 hp and 480 lb-ft of torque.

You can still get the Duramax diesel engine, though. The Chevy Silverado 1500 Duramax diesel engine is supposed to have a range of up to 670 miles. However, many drivers have reported surpassing 800 miles on a single tank.

The Silverado diesel gets an EPA-estimated 23 mpg in the city and up to 29 mpg on the highway. I have tested this engine, and the estimates are spot on. Also, the 3.0-liter V6 Duramax diesel engine provides 305 hp and 495 lb-ft of torque.

The third truck with more range than the Tundra hybrid is the GMC Sierra Duramax diesel. It’s like the Silverado, only it’s more luxurious.
